New Landing Page on eBay UK ONLY FOR CERTIFIED RECYCLERS
I'm writing this at Heathrow Airport and reflecting on a wonderfully successful 2 weeks in the UK. Andrea and I spent some time travelling through England and visiting some small and large auto recyclers after the VRA Conference.
I wanted to fill you in on some excellent news for automotive recyclers coming out of the UK.
This was announced at the Vehicle Recyclers Association conference last week here in Birmingham, the UK. This has been in the works for some time and yet another sign of the commitment to the auto recycling industry by eBay UK.
An amazing, amazing new landing page on eBay ONLY FOR CERTIFIED RECYCLERS - this is HUGE!
Have a look at it HERE
What does that mean?
It means that when people are looking for parts on eBay, eBay will try and direct them to the VRA Certified recycler's exclusive landing page at which point buyers will access the inventory of certified recyclers only.
To think that an organisation like eBay is actively pushing people towards your product? Who would have thought just 3 years ago?
Why you may ask?
Because automotive recycled parts are one of the biggest categories and growth opportunities on eBay. A recycled part is purchased circa every 6 seconds in the UK on eBay and the certified recyclers are growing their share of this pie exponentially.
I've been going on about certification now for a decade. Many used to tell me to give up on it, but hopefully now all can see why I've stayed true to this cause - and I am proud to say that I have played an integral role in the development of the independent certification program in the UK with the incredible support of eBay and the VRA.
In fact I remember the initial call I got from Laura Richards back in 2018. I was in a hotel room in Newcastle (Australia) and Laura called me to see if I was available and interested in helping eBay build a growth plan for recycled parts in the UK, a certification program and a B2B strategy, supported by insurers, collision repairers and mechanics.
The vision to make green parts an undeniable component of a safe, cost effective and sustainable repair is now being realised, but only due to the incredible commitment and continued investment of eBay in the UK.
Yes there is a way to go yet and the journey has just begun. The foundations are strong though, with over 100 VRA Certified recyclers, insurer vocal and very public support and an environmental commitment towards net zero emissions across the whole automotive segment, the future is bright and exciting.
Still not convinced about the value of becoming certified?
So, jump on board. The time has come to act.
We have reached the tipping point and now is the time to get on the train or you will miss out. JUST DO IT!
